Dry, Flaky Skin
- The first thing that you can do to combat dry skin is by drinking water. Believe it or not, you need to hydrate with about eight full glasses of water a day to maintain a healthy complexion. Water washes toxins out of your body and keeps them from irritating your skin. It also keeps everything else in your body functioning healthily, too.
- Second, moisturizing creams are a great way to get rid of flakes and peeling skin. The best types of creams are those that have the most natural ingredients – especially creams with Vitamin E included in the ingredients. Vitamin E boosts collagen production, which is an essential nutrient for maintaining healthy skin.
- Third, try taking two to three tablespoons of either Flax Seed, Olive or Cod Liver Oil every day. That’s right. The Vitamin E and essential Fatty Acids in these oils will smooth out your skin and give it s softness that you haven’t had since you were a child. Another natural ointment that works like magic is applying Coconut cream or oil as a topical solution to your skin.
- Fourth, a mask of Olive Oil, Yogurt and Honey will soften and moisturize skin if you use it at least once a week. Leave it on for an hour. The nutrients and vitamins in all three ingredients are great for your skin.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a common problem among middle age women, and sometimes younger. Don’t like looking as if you’re sunburned in the dead of winter? There are easy ways to fight this condition:
- The first is to reduce your exposure to irritants such as lotions, soaps and perfumes. If you have Rosacea, then your skin is probably more sensitive than others, meaning you have to watch what you apply.
- Hair care products may appear to have nothing whatsoever to do with your red cheeks and nose, but hold on. It does. Oftentimes people don’t realize that the products in their hair are rubbing against their face all night and throughout the day. This can irritate your skin and cause your Rosacea to “come out.” Switch to natural ingredients.
- Want to hide the redness in your skin tone throughout the course of the day? No problem. Purchasing makeup is something that women love to do. Make sure you buy a foundation that is infused with a green tint. This will pretty much hide all of the redness in your skin.
Wrinkles
Nobody likes wrinkles, but at some point, everyone has to deal with them.
- Loss of elasticity is a big reason for wrinkles, so getting periodic injections of collagen into the skin can help maintain a smooth complexion.
- Stay out of the sun! Sun tanning and sunburns cause wrinkles, so protect yourself by wearing SPF and shielding your face from sunbeams.
- Rose water facial spray will help tighten your skin over time, and it helps to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet and wrinkles around the mouth.
Oily Skin
- An excess amount of oil can lead to acne, regardless of what your age is. Try using a product that soaks up oil in the skin, like Proactive or Noxzema. Using a cleansing soap with sulfur-based ingredients should also help.
- Try to cut back on foods with lots of wheat or food that has been deep fried.
Scarring
Scarring can be emotionally damaging for women. There are ways to fade the appearance of scars –or get rid of them altogether.
- The first step is to take Vitamin E internally. It heals damaged skin tissues and maintains optimal skin health.
- One product that is outstanding when it comes to scarring or uneven skin tone correction is Clinique’s Even Better serum.
- Drinking Green Tea every day, keeping hydrated, staying out of the sun and using topical Aloe Vera treatments are also extremely helpful.
Fortunately, no matter what your skin concern is there are techniques and beauty products to help you.
